Billing FAQ
Invoices are sent at the end of each month. Customers can typically expect them within the first week of the following month, barring unexpected circumstances. You may pay your bill online via ACH payment (see link in invoice), send a check in the mail, or request our PayPal information.

Maintenance quotes, like mowing and fertilizing, are always free. Simply reach out to request a maintenance quote. We provide free consultations for the following services: landscape design & build, irrigation installations, drainage, hardscaping (walls & patios), and lighting. After our initial consultation, if you would like to move forward with receiving a formal estimate, recommendations, and/or design, there is a $150 retainer, which can be applied to your project. If an estimate is provided, and we do not move forward with the project, the $150 is non-refundable.
Estimating and designing large projects is very time-consuming, so this retainer helps cover our expertise and the time we spent creating a custom design for your home.

At this time, we only provide snow removal to our commercial and HOA properties. We do not provide residential snow removal services.
Yes, we can help you with tree and shrub health. We provide preventative treatments such as Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), Bagworm, and Japanese Beetle applications. We also offer tree & shrub fertilizing.
We can trim branches that are within a reasonable height, but we do not have the proper equipment or licensing required to provide full tree trimming services. If you need a recommendation on tree trimming services, please let us know.

Lawn Health and Maintenance FAQ
If you signed up for mowing services, we will mow your lawn weekly to make sure your lawn looks its best all season long. Some weeks can be skipped upon request during the hottest part of the summer, but may be subject to a 1.5-times charge due to the extra time it takes to mow after a skipped week.
We will measure your lawn and determine a price based on square footage and level of difficulty. Our minimum for mowing is $52 and must be combined with other services we offer.
Each time we treat your lawn, we will send a statement of service via email and a Mears Lawn & Landscape sign on your lawn. Please see the statement of service for details on watering, pet and child safety, and what treatment was applied.
Yes, we offer a lawn treatment that controls mosquitoes, chiggers, fleas, and ticks. We recommend treating your lawn with this application a minimum of 3 times throughout the summer. Please request this service with your lawn care proposal.
We provide several different options: mulching the leaves, bagging the leaves in the grass only, and full leaf clean-up. Mulching the leaves is bulled as a regular mow, unless it requires extra passes. A full leaf clean-up includes blowing the leaves out of landscaping beds and surrounding areas before they are bagged.
Many factors contribute to having a healthy lawn. It requires a combination of proper watering, fertilizing regularly, aerating & seeding, and many other factors. Our 7-step fertilizing program is a great starting point for obtaining a weed-free lawn. We will work with you to make other recommendations and provide a customized program to help create a healthy, lush-looking lawn.
Core aeration is very beneficial for our clay-based soils that we have here in Kansas City. It relives compaction and allows more oxygen to enter the soil. This process, along with seeds, helps to minimize weeds and ensures that your beautiful-looking lawn will not only be present this year but for years to come.
